From Jan. 17, 2010 to Jan. 22, 2010 --La prima missione gestita da Operation Smile Singapore tenutasi a Dhaka, capitale del Bangladesh, dal 17 al 22 Gennaio 2010 è stata un grande successo. Sono stati operati 86 pazienti presso l’Ospedale dell’Università Bangabandu Sheik Mujib.
Grazie al sostegno del “Bangladesh Rural Advance Commission (BRAC)”, l’organizzazione no profit più grande al mondo per varietà di programmi e numero di impiegati, è stato possibile alloggiare e coordinare 150 pazienti provenienti da 10 bidonville nella fase iniziale delle visite mediche.
Il team era composto da volontari medici provenienti da Singapore, Cambogia, Australia, Indonesia e India.
Molti dei volontari hanno regalato latte in polvere ai pazienti, una rarità per questi ultimi.
